Description

Two fantastic first ascent films each pushing the limits in its own way.

K6 West First Ascent is a UK and LLAMFF PREMIERE. The story of Raphael Slawinski, Ian Welsted and Jesse Huey who travel to Pakistan to climb K6 West. At the moment of their departure down the KKH, they learn of the massacre at Nanga Parbat base camp. Each is now faced with a decision. As Jesse returns home, Raphael and Ian continue with the trip and ultimately stand on the 7040m unclimbed summit.

Choronzon E10 first ascent. Neil Mawson makes the first ascent of Choronzon E10/8b+ at Range East, Pembroke.

"After I repeated Muy Caliente! in 2011 I wanted to find a route in Pembroke that would test my sport climbing fitness more and I found this line. It climbs straight up the middle of roughly a 30 degree overhanging wall for about 30 metres, around the same angle and length as the North buttress at Kilnsey!"

Hardest line: In early 2014, Calum Muskett and Dave MacLeod set out for Patagonia to repeat David Lama's free Compressor Route on Cerro Torre. With pitches up to 8a and bold, committing climbing high on the mountain, it is probably one of the hardest alpine climbs in the world. But Patagonia is famous for its foul weather and month-long storms. Would two of Britain's best climbers even get to see the mountain, let alone try one of the hardest, most famous and controversial climbs in the world?

Stone Free: Julian Lines is the best climber you've never heard of. He is undoubtedly Britain's most accomplished free climbing soloist with world-class free ascents to his name. This deeply personal account of the archetypal anti-hero is a stunning portrait that will leave your jaw on the floor.

Venue is The Beacon Climbing Centre.
